Let’s Celebrate Clinical Trial Project Managers on International Clinical Trials Day! (May 20)

Authors: Life Sciences LCI Marketing Volunteer

Do you remember your childhood vaccinations? Were they just pin pricks in the arm of a child?  Actually, they were much more than that.  They were the result of a “discovery of an act between bacteria and virus happening for the last billion years” by scientists and then application of the same, to trick your immune system to fight a virus on its own.  However, between the discovery and us receiving our vaccinations, extensive clinical trials were run.  Clinical trials are a mechanism to collect data and to analyze responses to assure safe distribution of medicines to the billions of lives on the planet.   While we as a society are forever indebted to scientists and medical professionals, there are many behind-the-scenes heroes.  One such example of unsung heroes is the Clinical Trial Project Manager.

Clinical Trial Project Managers relentlessly “manage the show” with their proactive, compliance-minded, detail-oriented mindset to collaborate and communicate with their entire team including subjects (e.g., people who are participating in the trial voluntarily) and medical professionals to finish Phase 1 and 2 trials in 3 to 6 months.  If you already play such a role, congratulations to you on May 20th, which is International Clinical Trials Day! (For more info on ICTD).
